Zone

Definition: A SIF Zone is a grouping of software applications in which software application agents communicate with each other through the Zone Integration Server (ZIS). A zone consists of a Zone Integration Server (ZIS) and two or more PK-12 applications sharing data.

What This Means: A zone is a logical (not physical) way of grouping applications that work together in a SIF environment. Applications within the same zone can subscribe to events from other applications within the zone. Security is managed within the zone level.
