Software as a Service (SaaS)
Defintion: Software as a Service (SaaS) is a model of software deployment whereby a provider licenses an application to customers for use as a service on demand.
What This Means: SaaS is also used loosely to describe a variety of functions that can be accessed by the user using the “cloud” or “grid.” In other words, a function that can be called and used over the Internet without having any code outside a browser loaded on one’s machine.
