Acceptable Use Policy

Definition: This policy governs the use of computers, software applications, data, and networks in an organization. A user of those resources is obligated to read, understand, and follow the Acceptable Use Policy.

What this means: An organization with an up-to-date and comprehensive Acceptable Use Policy demonstrates an appreciation for the obligation to protect the investment in technology and the data managed by it.  With this policy, users are clear about their limits and those who violate the policy are more likely to be successfully remediated.
