Vertical Reporting Choreography

Definition: The specific steps followed by agents regarding the movement of data in a vertical implementation. (As defined by the SIF Association.)

What This Means: Vertical reporting is significant for LEA to SEA reporting. ESP’s State Report Manager (SRM) is an example of a software application that manages official reporting from districts to the state and can use SIF vertical reporting as one choreography to accept the data. Vertical reporting is important because it allows districts using SIF horizontal interoperability to leverage that investment to register in a vertical reporting zone to submit data for state reporting purposes as well.
