Option Set

Definition: At times known as code sets, option sets are the valid choices available as categories for an element with a defined set of values.

What This Means: In the management of information, open-ended choices are problematic for analysis and reporting. Whenever possible or practical, option sets are used. As used in DataSpecs, option set is a unique name or title that represents a defined set of values.
